YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk States, "Music is Not Created to be Sold"

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk revealed his never ending praise and confidence in Lee Hi's new solo album.

During an interview with OSEN on March 1, Yang Hyun Suk commented, "I've been listening to Lee Hi's new songs for a few months now and I have a good feeling about this. I wanted to create an album that fans would want to cherish and I am happy to say that we have succeeded in doing just that."

On March 1, they also revealed on their blog and YouTube, the intro song to her album titled, "Turn it Up." This song reveals 16 year old Lee Hi's determination and goals as a singer.

Yang Hyun Suk commented, "This album is not geared towards topping charts or gaining acceptance from the public. This album features styles of music that Lee Hi and I like. We spent long hours working on songs os that they would fit with her voice and style. Yang Hyun Suk, who is usually not one to help with the artists albums, chose to specifically assist Lee Hi and her new album.

He continued, "This album is one that is rare to find in Korea as it features a sound and style that is very different. Lee Hi, although only 16, has an unbelievable talent and has soul that is so deep and emotional. I didn't know that it was this deep and intense."

He also pre-released her intro song for free, which is something that is quite shocking to the music industry, as music is their main source for profit. While others would leak songs as a way to noise market their new album, Yang Hyun Suk released the intro song for free, showing his confidence in the success of her new album.

He added, "Although I am the producer of this album, I did not create this music with the intentions of selling it and making money. We made this album in order to share and create music that we enjoy. We hope that this new album will be loved by other R&B fans out there so that these songs can continued to be loved and listened to."

Her intro song, "Turn it Up" was written by Tablo of Epik High. The song was produced by KUSH and Lydia Paek.
