‘Toy Story 4’ Release Date, Plot Details And News: The Future Of Buzz Lightyear And Woody Hinted; New Character To Be Added?

Following the epic third-part finale of Woody and the gang parting ways with their former owner Andy, a new "Toy Story 4" has been recently announced by Pixar to happen in the next few years, continuing the story of the toys and their relationship and identity as they move on to a new owner.

As previously announced, John Lassiter, who directed the first two installations of the series, would be back to take on the role of giving the series a new direction and relieve what people believe missed in the previous releases.

"We love these characters so much, they are like family to us," the director said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. "We don't want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what's gone before."

Furthermore, the 58-year-old director promised to give fans the best story yet for the series, to give them something to look forward to on the next release date of "Toy Story 4."

"[Toy Story 3] ended Woody and Buzz's story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie - and I wanted to direct it myself."

"A lot of people in the industry view us doing sequels as being for the business of it, but for us it's pure passion," said Lasseter. "We only make sequels when we have a story that's as good as or better than the original.

"We don't just, because of the success of a film, automatically say we're going to do a sequel and then figure out what we're going to do."

Release date of "Toy Story 4" is set to happen on June 16, 2017.
