The 1975 New Album Expected To Drop This Year? 2016 Australian Tour Announced!

After all the reports about the new album of The 1975, singer Matthew Healy revealed the progress of their next record, where they have been writing about a lot for quite some time already.

The singer revealed in an interview with Alternative Press how ready their group is to create a follow up for their debut release, which earned a huge reception from their fans.

"We've been (writing) quite a lot and there's a lot of new music for the next record -- but I'm not supposed to talk about it at the moment," Healy said. "We don't even know what it is yet, really. It needs time to become its own thing. We've got a very good idea of what's going on, but that could change, too."

As for the new The 1975 album's release date, he claimed that they initially wanted to have its release date set exactly two years apart from the first one.

"[The goal is to] put out an album two years to the day when we put out the last one -- or at least as close as we can get," the singer said. "So it will come out on a Monday (Tuesday in the U.S.) in September of 2015."

Furthermore, a report from Tone Deaf revealed that The 1975 will be embarking on an Australian tour in 2016 just in time for their new album release.

"The best way to start is the way we did before - in venues we have loved and in places that feel intimate enough to do a proper new show, with people who really want to be there or need to be there in some extreme cases," the frontman claimed.

The tour dates are as follows:

Jan. 17 - The Tivoli, Brisbane

Jan. 19 - Hordern Pavilion, Sydney

Jan. 20 - Festival Hall, Melbourne

Jan. 21 - Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide

Jan. 23 -HBF Stadium, Perth
