Disney has another movie coming for the followers of their classic stories. According to reports, an "Aladdin" live-action movie is coming soon.

In a report on The Hollywood Reporter, it was mentioned that a prequel of the 1992 animated film "Aladdin" is going to be developed into a movie with real actors. But rather that telling the story of the street thief, the focus of the film will be on Genie. THR said the upcoming live-action movie will reveal how Genie got trapped into the lamp that "Aladdin" came to possess.

Genie was described on the Disney website as the source of comedy of the "Aladdin" film.

"The wacky and wisecracking Genie has, among other functions, the purpose of providing a burst of slam-bang comic relief," the description read on the website.

In the 1992 "Aladdin" animated movie Genie became the street-smart thief's partner in changing his destiny,

"The tale of a street-smart thief Aladdin, who falls in love with the Sultan's daughter and embarks on an epic journey to win her hand," the movie description said on its official Facebook page. "During his quest, he unwittingly plays a pawn at the hands of the evil vizier, Jafar, who needs Aladdin's help to remove a mysterious lamp from the Cave of Wonders.

"Instead, Aladdin discovers that the secret of the lamp is a wisecracking Genie that grants him three wishes," the statement added.

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who are famous for scary movies like "Freddy vs. Jason" and the remake of "Friday the 13th" will write the script, according to THR. Tripp Vinson of "San Andreas," on the other hand, will produce.

Aside from the "Aladdin" live-action movie, Disney is also developing live-action flicks for the classic tales of "Beauty and the Beast," "Mulan" and a story about Prince Charming's brother, according to Entertainment Weekly.
