Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are allegedly on the brink of divorce and the "Magic Mike XXL" star is reportedly making a last ditch attempt to save their marriage.

On the July 27 edition of OK! magazine, as shared by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, although Amber Heard is still using that name for her screen appearances, all her legal documents already adopted the last name of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor.

The source alleged, "It is her way to try to prove to him that she is in it for the long haul. She is keeping her maiden name professionally, but legally she changed it to Depp. Things have calmed down, they're not fighting and they seem really happy."

But CDL doubted that Amber Heard's attempt to save her marriage to Johnny Depp would last.

"Drinking problems and cheating scandals don't just go away after a trip to the courthouse to change your name. If anything, Mrs. Depp's new moniker is just a temporary bandaid on some serious marriage problems," the article said.

"Amber Heard may not have successfully saved her marriage by changing her last name, but rumor has it that she did successfully get underneath Johnny's ex Vanessa Paradis's skin with her romantic gesture."

Previously, it was rumored that Vanessa Paradis was livid that "Pirates of the Carribean" Johnny Depp did not sign a prenup prior to marrying Amber Heard in February this year.

A previous article from In Touch claimed Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are allegedly headed for divorce because the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor did not fulfill his promise to never drink again after tying the knot.

"Amber is constantly worried about him. He'll go days without calling or texting her," it said.

A source told E! News, however, belied the marriage troubles and divorce rumors hounding Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
