SM Entertainment Floods July With Releases From 5 Top K-Pop Acts

SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's largest entertainment companies, pulled out all the guns to dominate one of the most competitive months the K-pop world has ever seen.

July, arguably the most memorable month of 2015 for K-pop, was flooded with releases from Korea's most popular acts, and numerous other K-pop acts have comebacks planned for the second half of the month. SM Entertainment, arguably the most powerful agency in South Korea, joined the fray with not one or two releases from the company, but four of Korea's most popular pop acts will release music before the month is over. A fifth K-pop group that is also related to SM also made a comeback.

Girls' Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, INFINITE, and SHINee will each have released a new single or album before August 2015.

On July 7, Girls' Generation kicked off SM Entertainment's July wave of releases, with the dance-pop single "Party." SM Entertainment announced that Girls' Generation will release two more singles by the end of the summer. Girls' Generation is recognized as one of the most popular girl group active in South Korea today.

A week after Girls' Generation's release, on July 16, Super Junior released a special tenth anniversary commemorative album, "Devil." Super Junior debuted in November 2005.

Four days later, on July 20, TVXQ will also release a special album, "Rise As God," to commemorate the enlistment of leader U-KNOW Yunho on July 21. All Korean men have to serve around two years in the Korean military.

The month will also reportedly see a new released from SHINee. The group released their fourth studio album "Odd!" in May, and will follow up with a repackaged album sometime in July.

Along with SM Entertainment's acts, one act under SM C&C, also made a comeback. INFINITE, which is signed to Woollim Entertainment, released "Reality" on July 13. Woollim Entertainment merged with SM C&C in 2013. SM C&C is a subsidiary of SM Entertainment.
