Stephen King's It Movie News:  A new director floated to the top of Stephen King's It.

According to The Wrap, Andy Muschietti, who directed the Universal horror hit "Mama," is in negotiations to replace Cary Fukunaga, who directed the first season of HBO's "True Detective," on the two-part adaptation of Stephen King's "It," which is coming from New Line.

The new adaptation will be split into at least two parts, telling the story of the kids who fought back darkness with an asthma inhaler long enough to grow up and fight it again.

"Rocky Horror Picture Show" star Tim Curry played Pennywise the Clown.

"It" will be produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg.

Warner Bros has been trying to remake Stephen King's now-legendary novel It for over six years now. behind the Universal horror hit Mama.

Muschietti's 2013 feature film debut, Mama was an adaptation of Muschietti's short film by the same name. Mama starred Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and it grossed $71 million.

Muschietti is expected to bring his sister and writing partner, Barbara Muschietti, aboard as a producer.

The new adaptation of Stephen King's It will reportedly be scarier and more vicious.

"We All Float Down Here," said Pennywise the Clown.
