Right as Super Junior fans are wondering about his whereabouts, the currently inactive Kim Kibum has chosen to resurface online with a rare tweet.

On Friday, Kim took to his barren Twitter account and posted a simple "hello," his first post since last September. It is unclear what could have prompted this, but observers believe it has to do with his name coming up during a recent broadcast featuring the other members of Super Junior.

On Wednesday, members of Super Junior appeared on MBC's "Radio Star." During the interview, co-host Kim Gu Ra asked about Kim Ki Bum's status as part of the group.

"Kim Ki Bum is doing a drama," said Super Junior's Eunhyuk according to allkpop. "He is in the midst of an extended leave from Super Junior."

And while co-host addressed Kim as if he had left the group permanently, Eunhyuk was quick to correct him.

"Kim Ki Bum is still a member of Super Junior," he said. "More than a singer, his goal is to be an actor. He doesn't promote as a singer. If he has an intention to be a singer [again], we are of the mind to accept him once again."

Despite it only being a one-word message to the public, Super Junior fans (ELFs) are still hoping for this to be a sign of his return to the group.

"Hello, long time no see," Twitter user Sharacheera responded. "How are you? When will you come back to Super Junior? ELFs are waiting for you!"

This is not the first time small social media activities of K-pop idols have caught the attention of fans.

On May 20, 2NE1 member Sandara Park uploaded a photo featuring her and WINNER's Kang Seung Yoon for Elle Korea. With 2.5 million followers, Dara's photo garnered 154,000 likes, and one of them happened to be Park Bom.

"Park Bom is online and she liked [Dara's] photo with Seung Yoon," tweeted WeLoveBom along with a screencap.

This was the first time any activity had been spotted from Park Bom's Instagram since last June, when the drug scandal created great controversy for the singer.
