Amber Heard Headed For Court For Dog Case In Australia? “Magic Mike XXL” Actress To Plea Guilty?

Amber Heard has been charged for allegedly bringing her dogs into Australia without following protocols set by the country.

According to a report on ABC Australia, Johnny Depp's wife was charged with a biosecurity breach, specifically, two counts of illegal importation for bringing Boo and Pistol to the Land Down Under back in May.

In a report of stuff.co.nz, it was cited that the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, who made the charges, will try and prove that the "Magic Mike XXL" actress falsified documents to get her dogs into the country without being detected.

It was not clear though if Heard will need to personally appear before the court for the hearing or a lawyer can take care of it.

As reported by People though, Amber Heard may avoid a court appearance for her dog case if she pleads guilty to the accusation.

"An application may be made, if Ms. Heard intends to plead guilty to the offenses, to have the sentence determined in the absence of Ms. Heard," Queensland Law Society Criminal Law Committee chair Peter Shields said.

Australian Minister for Agriculture Barnaby Joyce, who was very vocal from the start about the breach, said the actress was facing serious charges but declined to give further details.

"I won't talk about the case," Joyce said to Today. "What I can say is that the maximum fine, if you're found guilty, is up to 10 years in jail; it's very serious."

Back in May, Joyce was among those who called on Depp and Heard for smuggling their dogs into Australia without going through quarantine. Officials warned that the dogs would be put down if they do not leave Australia prior or on the day of the ultimatum. The dogs were taken back to the US in time.

Amber Heard might face the court for her dog case on September 7.
