Inactive EXO Member Tao Thanks Fans For Support Before 'T.A.O.' Solo Album Release

While there are some EXO-Ls who still hope for Tao's return, others are looking at his solo release as yet another member who has betrayed their favorite group.

Luckily for the Tao supporters, the Chinese pop star has heard their well-wishes.

The estranged EXO member Tao, or Z.Tao as he is known now, updated his personal Weibo account today with a message to his fans, thanking them for their support. The update comes just hours before the release of his first solo album "T.A.O.," which will be released on July 23. Fans can check out the brand new teaser for his solo debut below.

"I have finally achieved my dreams. Thank you to those who support me, I am really happy. I look forward to the moment on July 23rd," said Tao (via Koreaboo).

Tao uploaded a bright and smiling selfie to go with the positive message. It would seem that in the face of the still lingering controversy with EXO and SM Entertainment, he is still managing to remain positive.

Unfortunately, Tao's solo debut does not seem to hint that he will be returning to EXO anytime soon. The latest development regarding Tao's membership in the group was a statement by SM Entertainment after Tao established his own agency in China.

"It cannot be confirmed whether Tao is staying or leaving. Negotiations are still ongoing," said an SM Entertainment Representative.

Meanwhile, EXO is currently wrapping up their promotions for their "Love Me Right" album repackage, which topped several music charts when it was released.

The pressure may be on for Tao as he approaches his first solo debut, but based on his fan support in the face of controversy, he should have no trouble.
