New 'World Trigger' Anime Scheduled For 2015 Fall Lineup

Recently, at the "World Trigger" Summer Festival, several Japanese voice cast members announced that a brand new "World Trigger" anime is in the works. The new anime, which is based on an original story that did not appear in the original manga, will premiere this October.

So far, some fans in ANN forum are expressing excitement at the chance to watch a new original story that takes place in the "World Trigger" anime universe.

"I was surprised they didn't go down this route already since the series is scripted by someone who has worked on Ghost in The Shell. This should be very interesting," said DontmesswithKarma.

"World Trigger" was originally a manga series by Daisuke Ashihara. The most recent anime adaptation of the series is directed by Mitsuru Hongo with series composition by Hiroyuki Yoshino. The character designs are by Hitomi Tsuruta and Toshihisa Kaiya. The music is by Kenji Kawai.

Although no cast for the new fall "World Trigger" anime series, the following Japanese voice cast were present at the festival announcement:

Tomo Muranaka as Yuma Kuga

Yuuki Kaji as Osamu Mikumo

Nao Tamura as Chika Amatori

Nobuhiko Okamoto as Jun Arashiyama

Masakazu Morita as Shuji Miwa

Viz Media, who has licensed "World Trigger" outside Japan, describes the series as follows:

"A gate to another dimension has burst open, and from it emerge gigantic invincible creatures that threaten all of humanity. Earth's only defense is a mysterious group of warriors who have co-opted the alien technology in order to fight back!"
