Channing Tatum Gives First Hint At Upcoming 'Gambit' Spin Off; Character May Appear In 'Apocalypse'

Channing Tatum who will be portraying Gambit in Fox's "X-Men" universe has revealed his upcoming movie's logo.

During the recent Comic-Con in San Diego, the "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" star stepped out on stage with Marvel legend Stan Lee during the the closing of Fox's panel to take a selfie with the Ryan Reynolds and the "Apocalypse" cast. While taking the photo, a collection of Fox movie logos appeared on the stage's big screen; the "Gambit" logo was also included.

Tatum published the photo on his Twitter.

While "Gambit" won't come out until 2018, many are already expecting the character to be introduced as early as next year in "Apocalypse."

Cinema Blend has concluded that Tatum's suprise appearance at Comic-Con may indicate an appearance in the upcoming "X-Men" film.

The report claims that director Bryan Singer flew to Comic-Con straight from straight from Canada where "Apocalypse" was filming.

"Why would Fox have paid the actor [Tatum] to fly from his home just to pop in real quick for a selfie and not say anything?" reporter Nick Romano said. "With no other presence at Comic-Con, we have a theory as to why he was there: he was secretly filming a cameo appearance in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' and, instead of being one of the only ones left on the Canadian set with nothing to do, he took a trip with his fellow cast members to Comic-Con."

"Apocaylpse" stars James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Lucas Till as Havoc, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Oscar isaac as the title villain.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" arrives on May 27, followed by "Gambit" on Oct. 7, 2018.
