For Stellar, Overtly Sexy Concepts Are An Important Part Of Their Image And Strategy

Stellar has made another comeback with a super sexy concept for "Vibrato" - so sexy that it has stirred up controversy from online commenters - and the girl group recently admitted that the attention is very welcomed.

In an interview with No Cut News, Stellar told a humbling story of not having enough money for rides, sharing one food order for the group and borrowing choreography space due to their unsuccessful releases with cute concepts.

Then, as a desperate move, Stellar decided to "put everything on the line" and adopted a sexy concept for their song "Marionette" in 2014 - a risky gamble that eventually paid off and earned the group some money.

In another interview with News 1, Stellar explained that after the popularity boost with "Marionette" they released a couple of songs with a toned-down concept but these did not gain them as much success.

"We haven't only done sexually provocative concepts. After 'Marionette', we had two more songs but they were buried right away. We have to come out with sexy concepts like this to get attention and perform on more stages. People who find out about us like this end up looking up our older songs. It's one way of getting people to recognize us."

The group say they are learning to deal with the backlash of their sexy concepts because in spite of the criticism, it is what brings them popularity and success.

"The reason we wear sexually provocative clothes and dance in such a manner? So that more people look for our stages and, in turn, look up our older songs too. If we get our name out there this way, then we're fine with it."
