Junichi Masuda's Tweet About Satoru Iwata Foreshadows New Pokemon Game Announcement?

It's been some time since a new Pokemon game from the main franchise has been announced, but there's evidence that that will change in the near future.

On July 2, shortly before Satoru Iwata's passing, Game Freak founder Junichi Masuda tweeted his presence at The Pokemon Company. While this seems ordinary, Masuda reportedly met with Iwata at The Pokemon Company as well.

While this is by no means a confirmation, observers believe Masuda and Iwata met to prepare for a Pokemon-related announcement, possibly even a new game.

"Next month is already a fairly big month for Pokemon, with the World Championship taking place towards the end of the month and it's certainly not out of the question that some sort of announcement regarding new Pokemon could happen too," wrote PokeJungle contributor Moving.

"What is uncertain is how we could receive a new announcement, Corocoro is due out on Aug. 12 and could bring an announcement, but there's also the chance that Iwata and Masuda were recording a Pokemon Direct similar to the one in which ['Pokemon X' and 'Pokemon Y'] were revealed. 'Pokemon Get☆TV' in Japan also could hold an announcement soon as they have been known to do in the past."

As previously reported, the recent Pokemon movie "Hoopa & the Clash of Ages" also premiered a trailer that revealed two new forms or new Pokemon entirely.

Reportedly, one new Pokemon is described as green with one eye larger than the other, and has a red stomach. It is then quickly followed by the silhouette that was revealed during the latest CoroCoro leaks.
