Joey Bada$$, Tablo Collaboration Set To Drop This August

A new crossover collaboration has been announced between Epik High's Tablo and American hip hop artist Joey Bada$$.

On Monday, record label YG Entertainment confirmed the international project, which is slated to release sometime in August.

"The latest project is a global one, led by Korean producer Code Kunst and Joey Bada$," said the label according to Soompi. "With the confirmation of Tablo for participation of the project, we will be seeing a collaboration between him and Joey Bada$."

Born in 1995, Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott aka Joey Bada$ is known for his 2012 mixtape "1999" as well as his debut album "B4.DA.$ (Before the Money)," released in January.

Meanwhile, Tablo is busy overseeing his independent record label, HIGHGRND, a separate venture from his activities with YG Entertainment and Epik High.

"It is inappropriate to meddle in his own project," said YG founder Yang Hyun Suk according to YG-Life.

"Plus, I don't have time for that. If I decide to let him go his way, it is better to fully trust him and help him as much as I can. The strength of an independent record label is the music of highly autonomous and individual artists. HIGHGRND is launched to honor the principal."

The first artist to sign with HIGHGRND is indie band Hyukoh, who soared in popularity after their appearance on the Korean reality show "Infinity Challenge."

"A big [reason] why Hyukoh chose HIGHGRND was because both Tablo and the band were impressed with each other's music," said a statement from HIGHGRND.

"Tablo and Hyukoh recently worked together to prepare for a performance and built a relationship. Hyukoh have decided to work with HIGHGRND because we are all working towards the same direction."
