Halo 5 Guardians Release Date Gameplay Won't Have Splitscreen Because Of Developers' Desire For 'Scale, Fidelity And Focus'

Halo 5: Guardians developers have announced that they will drop splitscreen options for the upcoming title's release date gameplay.

Executive producer Josh Holmes described it as one of the "most difficult" decisions they have had to make.

"To move Halo's gameplay forward and deliver a true next-gen experience, tough choices had to be made," he said, according to GameSpot

"Our decision was driven by a desire for scale, fidelity, and focus to ensure that we would deliver the best quality experience possible."

The latest episode of the "Hunt The Truth" podcast series accuses gameplay character Master Chief of disloyalty and a lack of allegiance, bringing into question the game's release date plot.

343 Industries released an audio clip of a previous "Hunt the Truth" podcast leading up to the release date of Halo 5: Guardians, revealing crucial details about the title's gameplay.

The installment, Episode 07, includes information about the origins of Master Chief and The Spartan Program. Listen to the episode here.

The Limited Collector's Edition of Halo 5: Guardians includes a commemorative statute, as well as the limited edition game itself and an "arsenal of additional content."

The package is available exclusively for the United Kingdom-based GAME franchise.
