Ex-Ferrari Boss Calls Michael Schumacher's Condition 'Very Sad;' Montezomolo Dedicates Win To F1 Legend

The former Ferrari boss, Luca di Montezemolo, paid tribute to Michael Schumacher when he was inducted to the automotive hall of fame as he said that the 7-time F1 champion's current condition is "very sad."

"I don't know if I would have received this award without him," he said. "It is dedicated to him, because he is trying to win his toughest race."

Michael Schumacher's true condition today is still vague after suffering from coma following a horrible crash at the French Alps in December 2013 because the family has imposed a news blackout. In September 2014, he was transferred to his lake home in Geneva where he's receiving 24/7 care that reportedly cost around $15,000 a week.

Luca di Montezemolo said of Michael Schumacher, "He was not only someone I worked with, but above all a friend with whom I shared so much. To know that he now lies in bed for such a long time is very sad."

Early this month, Michael Schumacher's wife took legal action against two newspapers for reporting false stories regarding the F1 racer's condition.

The tabloids were identified as Bunte, Freizeit Revue and Freizeit Spaß.

The family has been on lockdown with regards to news regarding Michael Schumacher's coma condition after a journalist attempted to gained access to the F1 champ by posing as a priest.

Spokesperson Sabine Kehm told a German newspaper that "a journalist disguised as a priest has tried to get access to Michael's room. This is something I would not have thought possible. As soon as his disguise was recognised, he expelled from the hospital."

Corrina scored a major victory when the local court imposed a ban on any unofficial report on Michael Schumacher's coma condition.

"The court's chamber dealing with press law considered the contested forms of coverage as being inadmissible in essential respects and banned them," the Telegraph said.

"Ruling against the magazines, the court found that the coverage had 'removed his privacy and was the subject of speculative hope and voyeuristic observation,' the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported."
