Amanda Knox Celebrates Life After Murder Case Acquittal; Takes To Facebook To Enjoy Birthday

Amanda Knox is enjoying her freedom as she celebrated her birthday on July 9 with a Facebook post showing her drinking a morning coffee with fiancé Colin Sutherland at a local bakery in her hometown of Seattle.

"On Thursday Knox posted the picture of herself in a floral top with the caption 'My 28th birthday! Breakfast at Bakery Nouveau with Colin!" said Daily Mail.

"Since her exoneration Knox appears to have let loose and is living life to the full. In May she was filmed singing the Cranberries song Zombie at a kareoke bar in New York."

Amanda Knox and former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were exonerated in the murder case of British student Meredith Kercher after the Italian court found the evidence against them to be flimsy.

But Amanda is not totally out of the woods yet.

The Seattle native, who earlier announced her engagement to Colin Sutherland, was charged for lying in her testimony that she was coerced by the police into pinning down the murder of Meredith Kercher to a Congolese bar owner.

The trial opened in Milan on Wednesday and Amanda Knox isn't expected to attend, said the UK's Independent.

Lawyer Carlo Dalla Vedova, however, said that his client is not worried about the case. He also said the statute of limitations will take effect in October 2016.

Amanda Knox's former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito will also be back in court in May 2016 as he faces a defamation charge over his claims in his book, "Honor Bound."

According to the Examiner, Raffaele Sollecito, her co-accused in the Meredith Kercher murder trial, will be tried in the Tuscan capital for insulting the police and the Italian prosecutor Giuliano Mignini.

"While provisionally freed during the seven years that they appealed their murder convictions, Knox and Sollecito each penned memoirs rehashing their experiences," it said. "Publishers dished out $4 million and $1 million respectively for their novels."
