K-Pop Legend Seo Taiji Announces Career-Spanning Live Album Release Next Month

Esteemed Korean pop icon Seo Taiji be making a rather special comeback next month.

Seo Taiji (real name Jeong Hyeon Cheol) will be releasing a live album in August that documents his entire career in the Korean music industry.

Seo Taiji's upcoming live album Quiet Night will show how he became a prominent and influential cultural icon in South Korea.

According to the singer's representative agency, Seo Taiji Company, the album is going to consist of 29 live recordings, and will include concerts from his early years when he was part of the 90s group, Seo Taiji and Boys.

Seo first gain mainstream attention for his work with the group, that also included Lee Juno and Yang Hyun Suk, the latter of whom went on to start the wildly successful Korean record label YG Entertianment. The group Seo Taiji and Boys was active from 1992 to 1996, and are often credited with the rise of the globalized Korean pop music scene as it is known today.

Seo Taiji's upcoming live album will take the same title as his ninth studio album, which was released on October 20, 2014. 

Quiet Night is scheduled to be released on Aug. 7.
