Alicia Silverstone's brother, David Silverstone, is facing two felony marijuana charges related to a series of warrant searches last week in Mendocino County, according to Daily Mail.

The California marijuana raid also snagged Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. Army sergeant accused of deserting his post prior to his capture by the Taliban. Bergdahl was at a ranch in Redwood Valley when authorities stormed the property and seized 181 marijuana plants.

Apparently, Bergdahl was only visiting with friends at the time. However, police arrested two of his friends during the raid, and in a bizarre twist, it led to the arrest of Silverstone's 43-year-old brother at the adjacent property where he is a farmer.

The Mendocino County District Attorney is still reviewing the charges against those arrested at the ranch, but Silverstone's brother has already been charged with two felony counts of cultivating and processing marijuana, as well as having possession of marijuana for sale.

Two search warrants were purportedly carried out simultaneously at adjoining properties last Tuesday, and Ukiah Sheriff Tom Allman confirmed this to Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail asked the sheriff if Silverstone knew the people living on the property next door, and the sheriff replied, "It is fair to assume so," although he added that he couldn't confirm if Silverstone and Bergdahl knew each other.

While growing marijuana in Northern California is legal, the same is strictly controlled. In Mendocino County, specifically, anyone who is not part of a co-operative can only grow no more than 25 plants, provided they can produce a medical marijuana card.

According to People, 181 marijuana plants were seized from Silverstone's farm, which is located about 120 miles north of San Francisco.

Silverstone was booked on Tuesday night, but he was released about an hour after on the premise that he posted bail. The bond amount was listed at $25,000.

People reported that it tried to reach Alicia Silverstone's rep for comments, but the latter did not immediately respond to the request.
