Hospitalization Of Koyote's Shinji After Fainting Spell Clarified By Label Reps

A fainting incident this week led to the hospitalization of Koyote member Shinji.

Koyote's Shinji (Lee Jee Seon) was taken to the hospital on the morning of Wednesday, July 29 after collapsing from a high fever, which was reported to have been 41 degrees Celsius (105.8 F).

Clarifying the news regarding Shinji and her current condition, representatives from her agency spoke to Korean news media outlet DongA. "It is true that Shinji has been hospitalized," said the representative, as reported by Soompi. "Her fever has now gone down and she is currently resting."

The representative further that the singer's current ailment was not connected to a previous illness that hospitalized her back in November 3, 2008. "It was not a relapse of pyelonephritis (inflammation of the kidney as a result of bacterial infection) that she suffered previously."

"This was not due to any specific condition," clarified the rep. "But her body was overworked due to her solo album preparations as well as her vocalist work," said the representative. Shinji is currently recovering the hospital and will be discharged once she is fully rested.

"She will take care of her body as much as she can at the hospital, then she will be discharged at the doctors’ recommendations."

Shinji just recently released her trot single titled "My Heart Is Racing" on Friday, July 24. She is part of the trio group Koyote with Kim Jong Min and Bbaek Ga. Shinji debuted with the group in 1999 and is known for her unique vocals.
