Wesley Snipes Reveals Meeting With Marvel Studios About 'Blade 4'; Will He Be Better Off With A Netflix series?

Actor Wesley Snipes confirms meeting with Marvel Studios about the "Blade" franchise.

Speaking with Deadline, the 52 year-old star discussed his current deal with the studio.

"The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things," Snipes confessed. "I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air."

"I've always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and it'd be nice to be a part of the family again," he added. "But if we don't do a 'Blade 4' or something else with Marvel, we'll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful."

Snipes has previously mentioned that he'd be up for another "Blade" installment as long as the script was right. But currently, there are no talks of the day-walking vampire killer joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon. Sources like Screen Rant, however, explained why Blade might fare better joining a Marvel Netflix series.

"So Punisher, Ghost Rider, Blade, all those characters are back," Marvel boss Kevin Feige shared with Entertainment Weekly . "They all have potential, but I think we need to find the right time. We're not going to say, we got it back - make it."

The latest installment, 2004's "Blade: Trinity" was considered as the series' most unsuccessful installment - which begs the question, will Snipes be better off making "Blade 4" or star in a Netflix series?

Funny man Patton Oswalt who starred in the film as Hedges went public about the failures of "Trinity."

"It was a very troubled production," the actor confessed to A.V. Club "Wesley [Snipes] was just fucking crazy in a hilarious way. He wouldn't come out of his trailer, and he would smoke weed all day."

Snipes will appear next in NBC's "The Player," premiering this fall.
