'Rizzoli & Isles' Season 6 Recap: Episode 7 Shows What Happens When 'A Bad Seed Grows', As Jane Struggles With Couch Issues!

This "Rizzoli & Isles" season 6 recap of episode 7 started off with a jogger and her dog discovering the lifeless body of 16-year-old Sheila MacIntyre stuffed in an animal cage.

The murder plot would have been stereotypical save for the fact that a certain creepiness factor permeated the episode titled "A Bad Seed Grows", as TV Fanatic noted.

Sheila's murder didn't yield any signs of struggle. The prime suspect would later turn out to be a teen who could elicit a look of fear on his own mother's face. Then, there was another murder committed probably to cover up Sheila's case.

The cage in which Sheila's body was stuffed revealed older blood samples, which forensic expert Maura deduced to be that of a squirrel, a raccoon and a dog. To Jane and Maura, this meant the killer has moved on from killing animals to killing a human, and it could only get worse.

The case seemed to be meeting a dead-end, until a colleague of Maura, Dr. Foley, who happens to be a therapist, visited her and started dropping subtle hints about the murder. It seemed the good doctor knew more about the case than Rizzoli & Isles but was keeping silent perhaps due to doctor/patient confidentiality.

So Jane decided to pay Dr. Foley a visit, only to discover his bloodied body and a teenage boy, covered in blood, hiding in a closet. Judging from the blood splatter on his clothes, it looked like he was standing in front of the doctor as he stabbed him. The catch is he had a perfect cover-up story, claiming the doctor was trying to molest him and he had to defend himself.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry's "Rizzoli & Isles" season 6 recap said the teenage boy was Daniel O'Neill, a patient of Dr. Foley. The 16-year-old boy fit the profile of Sheila's killer, making him the prime suspect.

It turned out he worked for the animal shelter, which gave him access to the animal euthanizing drug he used to kill Sheila. Further investigation showed he stashed his files into other patients' files to make it seem like he was "clean" all along, the he hasn't been seeing Dr. Foley for the past six months.

However, this highly intelligent sociopath underestimated Rizzoli & Isles, and perhaps with his own mother's help, the cops performed a sting operation that led to him being caught with Sheila's murder weapon in his hand as he attempted to kill his mother.

TV Fanatic's "Rizzoli & Isles" season 6 recap ended with them tying up the senselessness of Sheila's death with Jane's need for order, reliability and familiarity as characterized by her struggle to hold on to her old, falling apart couch.
