Dallas Mavericks News: Mark Cuban Talks About Wesley Matthews’ Health And Rajon Rondo

It looks like the Dallas Mavericks have finally moved on from the DeAndre Jordan fiasco and are now looking at ways to improve their team from here on out.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was able to haul in good acquisitions during the free agency period. They were able to acquire Wesley Matthews, Deron Williams, Sam Dalembert, and Zaza Pachulia.

The most notable of their acquisitions, Wesley Matthews, just came from an ACL injury he suffered last season but according to the owner, he is expecting the shooting guard to recover by next week per Zach Lowe of Grantland.

He also highlighted how confident he is with their healthcare competency and with that, he won't shy away in taking risks.

"I invest in more medical science companies that I can list," he said. "It's just a different world right now from when Chauncey (Billups) or Penny (Hardaway) or those guys went through it. But look back to Dominique Wilkins, he did it. What do you, run away from risk going forward?"

He also noted that his team is competent enough to secure a top three spot every season should they be assigned to the Eastern Conference.

"If we were in the East, we'd be a perennial top-three team," Cuban said. "We wouldn't have to do much, just add pieces around Dirk Nowitzki."

Later in the interview, he also spoke of embattled point guard Rajon Rondo but it seems like he does not bear any ill-will against the point guard.

"Rajon just wasn't a fit," Cuban said. "Everybody went back and forth 100 times, in the end it really came down to a coin flip than anything else."

Next season, Cuban will simply have to go all-in with his new acquisition last season in Chandler Parsons. Both men respect each other so much and that is a good start for the Dallas Mavericks.

"I think this is my team," Parsons said, according to ESPN's TIm MacMahon. "I think we have the best owner. We'll get over this. We'll move forward. If we struggle next year, so be it, but we will bounce back and we have a lot of hungry guys that we've signed."
