EXO To Make Debut In Japan With TV Series 'EXO Channel' This August

Fans of the popular Korean boy EXO received some exciting news this week!

On July 30, Japanese media holdings company Avex released a teaser video of EXO's upcoming Japanese television program EXO Channel.

"EXO will great their Japanese fans through their first Japanese show," Japanese outlet Nikkan Sports revealed. "EXO has carried out events in Japan over the last few years and have been attraction attention from agencies and fans, because of this we decided to start the program."

EXO Channel is an interesting route for EXO to make their Japanese debut. Most foreign artists choose to enter the Japanese market through an album rather than a television show, making EXO stand out amongst their potential competition. Starting off with a television program instead of a single is currently unprecedented, as well. Through this kind of exposure to Japanese audiences, many suspect that once EXO releases a Japanese single they will succeed on the charts.

EXO recently has seen explosive success with their latest repackage album and single Love Me Right. The music video for "Love Me Right" has earned a collective 26 million views between the Korean and Chinese versions. In addition to their domestic promotions, the popular boy group has been hosting their second solo concert "Exo'luXion" across Asia.

EXO Channel will start airing Friday, August 7 through Tokyo TV. Until then, check out the teaser below:
