JYP Entertainment Prepares Debut Of New Boy Band DAY6

JYP Entertainment has revealed that they are in the middle of preparations for the debut of their next boy band DAY6.

Originally named 5Live (pronounced "Five Live"), JYP Entertainment rebranded the new boy group with the addition of a new member.

Fans of YG Entertainment's 2013 competition program YG's WIN: Who Is Next will recognize many of the DAY6 members from the episode where YG and JYP trainees competed against one another. In addition to the trainees, K-Pop Star contestant Park Jaehyung and Kang Younghyun, who featured on Baek Ah Yeon's track "Shouldn't Have," are also confirmed members according to a report by XSports News.

Many speculated that DAY6's debut would follow the upcoming Wonder Girls' comeback. Unfortunately, a JYP representative told TV Report that no set debut date has been decided. T

he six member group, however, have already been working on their performing abilities. On July 24, DAY6 took part at a live club performance in Hongdae, Seoul. On July 31 the group opened up "Live Club Day," another event in Hongdae, as well. JYP Entertainment explained these performance as ways for the group to build up experience before their debut.

Many fans have expressed their excitement over the new group. "Finally!!" One fan exclaimed as translated by Netizenbuzz.

"When JYP trainees went up against 'WIN', the vocal colors of the trainees were no joke. I really want to see them out soon," another commented.

Others, however, seemed apprehensive to the new group and shared their wishes for GOT7, JYP Entertainment's most recent boy group to debut, to receive more attention from the company instead.
