A ‘Stuart Little’ Live Action Reboot Is In The Works Under Sony Pictures And Red Wagon Ent

A live action "Stuart Little" movie remake is said to be in the works under Sony Pictures, according to a report by Zimbio.

The list of films which are getting reboots is just becoming longer and longer, and this time, reports say that "Stuart Little" will be seeing yet another big screen debut with Sony Pictures, in collaboration with  Red Wagon Entertainment, planning on a remake.

The story of a white, talking mouse who gets adopted into a family of humans, will be getting a taste of the big screen once more after the cinematic success of the first "Stuart Little" films, The Tracking Board reports first.

Following its predecessors, the new "Stuart Little" film will also be enlisting the same elements of CGI graphics and live action footage. It will, once more, follow the adventures of Stuarts the mouse and the Littles, the family which adopted him as their son.

However, the plan seems to be in its early stages as there have been no cast members named just yet, according to ComicBook.com. Another detail provided is that the film will be taking a John Hughes approach to it just like the "Spider-Man" reboot is.

Cinemablend says that it is safe to say that since the film will be taking a different approach, it is safe to say that there will be some noticeable alterations.

As for the people working behind the cam, Zimbio states that Sony Pictures will be enlisting the first films' producer, Douglas Wick.

"Stuart Little" live action was first released back in 1999, adapted from E.B. White's work with the same title, released back in 1945. The film starred "House MD" star Hugh Laurie as Fredrick Little while Geena Davis took the role of his wife Eleanor. The film received a warm reception upon its release, but the second installment did not perform as well as the first one.
