Optimus Prime Gone In 'Transformers 5'? Megan Fox & Shia LaBeouf Come Back To Bid Him Farewell?

Will Optimus Prime be bidding goodbye when "Transformers 5" hits the theatres, and will Megan Fox and Shia LeBouf join in the hero's send off?

Several months ago, Vine Report said that Paramount Pictures has confirmed the fifth installment of the franchise, adding that it would return to the big screen in the summer of 2017.

Fans are expecting the fifth installment, especially after its predecessor, "Transformers: Age of Extinction", made $1.1 billion at the box office.

Apparently, new robots will be featured in "Transformers 5" such as Ultra Magnus, Blitzwing, Cyclonus, Scrounge and Red Alert. Shia LaBeouf, who played Sam Witwicky in the first three installments of "Transformers," is reportedly reprising his role in the forthcoming movie.

Reports have likewise confirmed the inclusion of Mark Wahlberg in "Transformers 5". He will be returning as Cade Yeager, the one who succeeded Sam as the autobots' human liaison. Nicola Peltz, who played Wahlberg's daughter in the fourth installment, will likewise be returning as Tessa.

However, according to Movie News Guide, while Optimus Prime is sure to be an integral part of "Transformers 5", Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf have not yet committed and they are still unsure if they would return to reprise their roles. Fox played Sam's love interest in the first film.

Fox has supposedly said she would love to return if LaBeouf would be returning, but apparently, LaBeouf himself is "doubtful" to return.

Even Michael Bay, director of the first four installments, might not be returning to helm the movie, as he hast just started work on another project. Rumors are rife that Bay's protégé, Jonathan Liebesman, may take over as director of "Transformers 5". Incidentally, Liebesman helmed "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Franchise Herald has said that details about the fifth movie have been scant. Nevertheless, rumors are rife that the leader of the autobots, Optimus Prime, will be saying goodbye in "Transformers 5" and the inclusion of Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf would be a fitting send off to the leader, who would most likely hand over the reins to another capable autobot.
