The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Host Announcement would be live and would feature first the final bid presentations of the Philippines and China before announcing the official host of the tournament.

In an official report of the FIBA website, the tournament in 2019 would showcase for the first time ever, a lineup of at least 32 teams and would be the first major tournament that would incorporate the new system that FIBA has introduced and that would be applied in 2017.

In a report by Latin Post, the Philippines would bid to host the basketball world cup tournament in 2019 for the first time since 1978 and following the successful hosting duties of the FIBA Asia Championships in 2013.

In the report, Manuel Pangilinan, who is the president of the Basketball Federation of the Philippines recently expressed his excitement over an interview with FIBA.com regarding his country's opportunity to host the FIBA Basketball World Cup after four years.

"We are hugely excited by the opportunities the Philippines 2019 bid offers our country and, vitally, the sport of basketball around the world," Pangilinan said. "We believe we are presenting FIBA with a passionate, innovative and game changing vision from a country on the move."

Meanwhile, a report by SPIN also revealed the excitement from the basketball players of the Philippines after they got in touch with the former captain ball of the Philippine team Jimmy Alapag, who is enthusiastic about bringing the basketball culture of the Philippines in an international level.

"That's what I want FIBA to experience," Alapag said. "To feel that passion and love for the game that runs deep in all of us. We are going up against the giant. But we have proven that giants can be taken down."
