Korean Communications Standards Commission To Fine 'Show Me The Money 4' For Inappropriate Language

MNet's Show Me the Money 4 and all of its controversies have not gone unnoticed.

On August 5, the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) brought a fine against the rap competition program. The decision was unanimous amongst the members of the Commission according to a report by Sports Chosun.

The fine comes in response for failure to censor swear words and questionable content on the June 26, July 3, and July 10 broadcasts, as well as the June 23 pre-season commentary broadcast; thus failing to meet broadcast standards.

The maximum amount a fine would come to is 50,000,000 KRW (approximately $50,000 USD). However, the KCSC has yet to decide on the exact amount they will fine for this case. Fines are the highest level of punishment that the Commission is sanctioned to make.

Show Me the Money 4 has featured a number of controversies since its first episode. Some of the cases brought to the Commision's notice include rapper Black Nut pulling down his pants during his first audition and Song Mino's gynecology line that prompted accusations of misogyny.

Still, regardless of the controversies and the fines against it, Show Me the Money 4 will continue to air every Friday at 11PM KST.
