Representative For Jessica Jung Addresses Reports Of Singer's Debut In China

Fresh from the headline-making news that former Girls' Generation member Jessica Jung has officially left her Korean record label SM Entertainment, reports are filing in that she has completed recording a new song for her debut as a solo singer in China.

Jessica has also been rumored to be looking for a new agency for her Korean-Chinese promotions.

Amid these talks, a representative for the star released a statement on August 6 which denied any current plans to release an album.

"There are no plans for her to release an album yet," explained the rep. "It's true she visited a friend's studio, but there was no talk about an album."

Online commenters have been divided on what to make of her official departure from SM Entertainment and the rumors of her solo promotions in China.

On August 6, SM Entertainment said in a statement that after discussions with Jessica, both parties have agreed to go their separate ways. The agency even cheered on Jessica for her "new beginning."

Still, despite what seems to be an amicable split between Jessica and her longtime agency, critics are calling out what they deem to be inconsistencies in her reasons for leaving Girls' Generation, having stated in the past that she wanted to focus on her fashion brand BLANC & ECLARE.

"Didn't she say she was going to be a designer." and "I don't know what her job is anymore," said dismissive online commenters.
