Variety Film Critic Praises Super Junior's Siwon For 'Understated Composure' In New Movie 'To The Fore'

Super Junior's Siwon's new movie To The Fore has already been released, and reviews for the film about professional cyclists is already making the rounds.

Variety.com's chief Asia film critic Maggie Lee seemed to give mixed reviews, calling its central conflict "formulaic" but also considers it "dynamic and entertaining enough" to reap box-office success.

Siwon, who is credited as Choi Siwon, plays as one of the three young cyclists that are competing for road racing glory in the movie, "a Korean sprinter of exceptional speed and control, clearly destined for greatness," describes Lee.

Lee gave a thumbs-up to Siwon's performance but he was outshined by one of his co-stars, Shawn Dou, who plays the cyclist Tian.

"Choi maintains an understated composure befitting Ji-won's confidence and integrity," says Lee. "but it's Dou who engages the most; his history of being upstaged onscreen makes him an ideal choice to portray Tian's career frustrations."

Over the weekend, Siwon filled up his Instagram feed with photos of his recent promotional blitz in Shanghai, China.

In one photo, he even called on Chinese fans to come support his public promotional appearances.

"How are you today all? Is everything doing OK? Just to make sure you are fine. I'm in Shanghai for the promotion of 'To The Fore'. If you are around, Let's catch up!"
