NBC executives has reportedly found their replacement for Donald Trump as host of "The Celebrity Apprentice" season 8. Their current favorite -- international human rights lawyer and George Clooney's better half, Amal Alamuddin Clooney.

In a report on The Express UK, it was cited that NBC executives were purportedly eyeing to put some girl power on the American reality show and Mrs. Clooney was high on the list.

"Basically we want Amal, although there are a couple of other prominent women in contention," an unnamed NBC executive told the tabloid. "We think she could be a perfect fit, if her schedule can be made to dovetail with shooting requirements."

"As well as the cachet of being married to George, she is also a highly respected figure in her field and, since she rarely says anything in public, there is still something of an air of mystery to her," the source added.

Radar Online cited that the international human rights lawyer seemed open to host the TV show. She was also reportedly getting support to do the reality show from her husband as well as their friends. 

According to Mail Online though, Mrs. Clooney may apparently be facing some tough competition in being chosen as the host of the show. Aside from her, Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg and The Honest Company co-founder Jessica Alba were also reportedly among "The Celebrity Apprentice" season 8 host shortlist.

Trump has hosted the reality show for the past seven seasons since it was launched in 2008. But in June, NBC ended their ties with him after he said some harsh words against Mexican immigrants.

"Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump," the company said in a statement.

The incident led to NBC letting go of airing Miss USA and Miss Universe but maintained its relationship with "The Celebrity Apprentice" season 8 and they are now looking for a new host.
