'2015 Pokemon World Championships' To Be Held Next Week, Who Will Be Crowned The Pokemon Master?

The 2015 Pokemon World Championships is happening next week.

Pokemon is a commercial franchise that a vast majority of people are familiar with. Despite debuted back in 1995, the game still has a strong fanbase even at the present time and a lot of new fans due to the games and series.

To those who have never heard about Pokemon before, it was originally a concept where humans capture and train fictional creatures called Pokemon. There are more than 380 different species of Pokemon, plus there are even more of them being created as the fanbase keeps growing.

Each of the pokemon start off at the basic level, then they evolve and develop in skill the more they are trained. Players have to make sure to keep training their Pokemon to make sure that they will do well in battle, and possibly evolve into a more powerful version.

The 2015 Pokemon World Championships isn’t the first competition that focuses on one game. There are a lot of other competitions that focus on one specific game where fans and gamers gather together to share their appreciation and their love of the game.

This year’s 2015 Pokemon World Championships will be held at the B. Hynes Veteran Memorial Convention Center on Aug. 21 to Aug. 23, as reported by Nintendo Insider. Players from over 30 different countries will by flying in hoping to earn the championship title.

According to VG 24/7, the prizes are definitely worth the trouble. There is over $500,000 in scholarship awards, where each Pokemon video game world champion will win a $10,000 scholarship and Each Pokemon TCG World Champion will win a $25,000 scholarship.
