Girls' Generation's Yoona And Lee Seung Gi End Relationship

One celebrity couple that made the K-pop world smile has unfortunately come to an end.

Girls' Generation's Yoona and singer-actor Lee Seung Gi have officially broken up after being in a relationship since 2013. The pair broke up due to their busy schedules, reports sources close to the pair.

SM Entertainment, Girls' Generation's agency, confirmed the breakup and clarified that the split ended on amiable terms.

On August 13, Star News reported that the popular celebrity couple parted ways after dating publicly for a year and a little over seven months.

Lee and Yoona (Im Yoona) went public with their relationship at the beginning of 2014, and were linked together prior to confirming their relationship.

The couple expressed interest in one another on multiple occasions throughout appearances on Korean variety shows, including SBS's "Strong Heart," where Lee appeared as a host.

Girls' Generation's recent comeback and Yoona's drama filming China were cited by Korean media outlets as proof of her busy schedule. Similarly, Lee has been involved in filming several films, dramas, and variety shows in the past few months.

During the press conference for Girls' Generation's OnStyle reality show "Channel Girls' Generation," Yoona said that she would prioritize the group's promotions over "personal matter."

Yoona was one of the first members of Girls' Generation to go public with a relationship, leading to the girl group garnering the title "Dating Generation."

Girls' Generation will release their album, "Lion Heart" on August 18 and 19.
