Big Bang, Psy Tied For Most Number 1 Hits On Billboard's World Digital Songs Chart

Psy's "Gangnam Style" took the world by force in 2012, but the rapper's label mates Big Bang are preparing to overtake him on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart.

Big Bang's latest singles, "Let's Not Fall In Love" and "Zutter" took the top slots on Billboard's chart shortly after being released earlier this month. With "Let's Not Fall In Love" currently in the number one spot, the male K-pop idol group tied Psy with three songs having appeared at the top of the World Digital Songs chart.

Psy and Big Bang are the only K-pop acts to have songs in the number one slot on the chart, and both are managed by YG Entertainment.

Big Bang's "Let's Not Fall In Love," "Loser," and "Bang Bang Bang" all achieved number one on the World Digital Songs chart, and are all part of Big Bang's multi-month release "MADE" project album, which began in May with new songs being released each month. The idol group will release additional music, along with the full "MADE" album, at the start of September.

Each of the eight songs released as part of the "MADE" project have charted within the top three of Billboard's World Digital Songs chart, reports Billboard's Jeff Benjamin.

Psy's 2012 global phenomenon "Gangnam Style" and his follow-up songs, 2013's "Gentleman" and 2014's "Hangover" featuring Snoop Dogg, all also reached the coveted number one distinction. Psy is also set to release new music, at the end of September.
