Is Margaret Cho’s Open Marriage The Reason For Divorce After 11 Years With Husband Al Ridenour?

New broke today that comedian Margaret Cho filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Al Ridenour. Though they have been separated since last September, this move makes it official. The divorce papers filed in Los Angeles, California cite "irreconcilable differences" between Margaret Cho and her husband Al Ridenour. But was their open marriage to blame?

According to the Inquisitr, Cho, 46, spoke to The Real in 2013, explaining her "open relationship" to Al, 54.

"I'm married to a man but I'm bisexual so I like both. We got together because...we both have this [idea], 'I just don't want to have sex with the same person my whole life. That's just gross,'" she said at the time.

"I think when you have an open relationship you have to have boundaries, but ultimately, you want emotional monogamy with somebody no matter what," she explained during an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? in January 2014. "I don't really think about it more than that, it's just family."

And it gets even more interesting. Margaret Cho even explained that sometimes her husband would have women in the house while she was there!

"We have a really big house," she explained. "It's kind of like if we wanna have that, it's like, 'You can stay on your side or I'll stay on my side.' When I see her, I'll make her dinner.... Oh yeah. I've definitely been in the house."

It certainly sounds like an interesting marriage and perhaps after 11 years, Margaret and Al found that it wasn't working out anymore.

The couple have no children together.
