‘Seven Deadly Sins’ Season 2 Not Happening? Low Ratings In Japan Might Spell End For The Series

With the "Seven Deadly Sins" season 1 all wrapped up last March, fans are expecting a season 2 as there are lots of mysteries and conflicts yet to be resolved.

With that said, When-Will.net claims that the "Seven Deadly Sins season 2 potential release date could be coming fall this year, similar to the 1st season's debut.

However, World Anime Club suggests that it could be hard for the anime franchise to get a season 2. Despite of its tremendous success in the West, It has been a tradition in Japan to look at anime that has ratings in their country before they adhere to the demands of fans outside the country.

Despite having a score of 8.5 at IMDB and My Anime List, ratings for "Seven Deadly Sins" is on a decline which signals cancellation for the series. The website further added that anime shows raking in 10+ as their scores get the privilege to be renewed (i.e. High School DXD, Sazae San) while "Seven Deadly Sins have a measly 5.3 score.

There are still plenty of plots to be uncovered in "Seven Deadly Sins" season 2 like what the King saw in Elizabeth to anoint her as the princess despite not coming from royal lineage, what are the other secrets Meliodas is hiding, why Gilthunder betrayed his father and instead, join the enemies, plus the true identity of the white goddess, and many more.

The manga continues to be released weekly and the margin between the manga and the anime is sizeable enough to start "Seven Deadly Sins" season 2.
