‘Training Day’ TV Series To Be Created Under CBS; Network Issues Pilot Production For Series

CBS announces that it will be issuing a pilot production commitment for Antoine Fuqua's "Training Day" TV series, as stated in a report by ComingSoon.

Just the past week, it has been reported that the neo-noir cop film "Training Day," which starred Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke back in 2001, would be getting the small screen treatment. Fuqua is said to be collaborating with Jerry Bruckheimer to develop the series, and that they have been discussing with major networks for it.

It seems that "Training Day" TV series has finally found a home. According to a report on The Hollywood Reporter via Deadline, CBS will be committing to create the drama version of "Training Day," and it was confirmed that the show will be airing through the network.

As was announced, Fuqua, who helmed the film, will be returning to create "Training Day" TV series, and will be teaming up with Bruckheimer, who will be standing as the executive producer with "CSI" creator Jonathan Littman. On the other hand, Variety wrote that "Gangster Squad" writer Will Beall will be penning the script for the film and will also be one of the executive producers, accordin to Variety.

"Training Day" is a 2001 film which revolves around a crook detective who is partnered with a rookie cop for evaluation. The two cops would then find conflict when the latter discovers the real nature of the detective.

Though the essence of the film will be carried into the series, according to a report via ScreenRant, "Training Day" TV series might be taking on a plot twist with a white crook cop and a black rookie cop instead.

Other than that, the series will be taking place 15 year after the events that happened in the movie and will be focusing on the relationship of the two cops.
