The newest batch of rookies was nothing short of impressive during the summer league action. In fact, the top 10 picks showed why they deserved their respective selections.

Even the unheralded international prospects like Kristaps Porzingis and Mario Hezonja showed why they deserved to be ranked in the top 5 in the recent draft.

Although Porzingis impressed, it was clear that he will need a year or two before becoming a bonafide contributor. However, that was not the case for the Croatian Mario Hezonja.

The Orlando Magic draft pick showcased his full range of offensive arsenal and explosive athleticism. Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix said that this qualities will set him aside from other rookies as his game demands attention.

"He has star power written all over him. Much has been made of Hezonja's shooting-and it's a strength-but Hezonja is the total package," wrote Mannix. "He can take it to the basket, he can finish at the rim; he wants to dunk on opponents."

Moreover, Luke Duffy of Hoops Habit reported that despite Orlando's athletic young core, Mario Hezonja's game will make fans love to tune in every time the Magic are in action.

"Oladipo brings this too with his high flying acrobatics around the basket, Gordon too when he's fit. But Hezonja looks like he might have that 'it' factor, the reason you want to tune in to watch a game."

"I truly dislike those Kobe Bryant comparisons that floated around the internet at the time of the draft. But what I will say is, like Kobe, you are drawn towards watching him play," he wrote.
