The 2015 Teen Choice Awards showed a united Lyon brothers as they performed a hit from the show "Empire." The news of the stage number was a far cry from their characters' upcoming season 2 situation where they will reportedly collide.

As reported by Hollywood Life, Jussie Smollett, who portrayed Jamal, and Bryshere Gray, who played Hakeem, sang the hit song from the show "You're So Beautiful." "Empire" regular Gabourey Sidibe, meanwhile, stole the performance when she got onstage and showed of her dance skills as the onscreen brothers sang.

"You're So Beautiful" was also up for Choice Song from a Movie or TV Show but lost to "Fast & Furious 7's" "See You Again."

Earlier this month, a full trailer for "Empire" season 2 leaked online and news reports had it that Smollett and Gray's characters will be fighting to top each other's album when it both comes out.

"I'll bury your album, Hakeem," Jamal said on the trailer.

"I'm going to be bigger than you'll ever be - bigger than dad, too," Hakeem replied, meanwhile.

The trailer also showed the Andre Lyon character working on to remove Lucious Lyon from being CEO of Empire with the help of mom, Cookie as reported by MTV. Their plans might not succeed though as guest star Marisa Tomei's character, Mimi Whiteman, insisted that Lucious must stay. Lucious, on the other hand, was shown behind bars and still apparently enjoying some perks like recording.

With rumors of a possible "sophomore slump" hitting "Empire," the cast and producers of the show promised viewers a great upcoming season.

"It's going to be amazing," Smollet told Chicago Tribune. "I hope people are ready for what we're bringing for Season 2."

"I hope that the show does as well in Season 2 as it did in Season 1, "Empire" executive producer Ilene Chaiken told Deadline amid news of high expectations for the show. "The response is beyond my control, but I'm not stopping until I believe that we are every bit as delicious and good and irresistible as we were last year. I think we're going to be better.
