Korean Fans Express Outrage At Block B Wardrobe Choice For 70th Anniversary Korean Liberation Day Concert

Block B is caught up in another controversy as a result of member P.O's stage outfit during the Korean Independence Day Festival performances.

In celebration of Korean Independence Day on August 15, Block B participated in the Korean Independence Day 70th Anniversary Festival in Seoul. During their performance, P.O's jacket drew extra attention for the Japanese saying on its back. Although the jacket only read "no problem" (問題ない), the use of Japanese was viewed as poorly planned since August 15 celebrates South Korea's liberation from Japanese rule.

Images of P.O's outfit spread quickly around the internet, earning responses like, "This is the 70th national liberation day, how could you think to wear that? Of all the normal outfits they have, it had to be a shirt with Japanese on it?" and "They deserve all the hate for this, tsk tsk," as translated by Netizenbuzz.

Quickly after, P.O and his agency Seven Seasons both released official apologies. "This is about P.O's outfit at the '70 Years of Independence Festival' on the 15th. We bow our heads to apologize for P.O coming on stage with the problematic outfit," Season Seasons wrote as shared by TV Report. "His outfit was not checked fully before he went on stage. We have no excuse for this mistake and it is something that cannot happen again, so we are deeply sorry. We send our respects to those who protected our homeland and shed blood and swear for Korea's independence."

Additionally, P.O took to Twitter to apologize. "I wore an outfit that did not fit with the theme and made people uncomfortable. I am the most at fault in this situation. Instead of making excuses I want to apologize with all my heart. I will pay better attention to my outfits," the group's youngest member expressed.

Despite the official apologies Korean netizens are still sharing their anger over the incident. "This is so annoying, stop being such greedy people who will do whatever that is ordered of them and start thinking of what you're actually doing. Think of what this event stood for," one forum comment read.

Another shared, "I'm not even asking for nationalism but you should have a sensible head on your shoulders to know that you should refuse it. I seriously don't understand this decision."

Meanwhile, many Block B fans have also come to P.O's side, merely asking the member to be careful in the future.
