Big Bang Postpone September 'MADE' Album Release For Group Members To Rest After 4 Months Of Promotions, Touring

One of Korea's most popular idol groups says that they need to take a rest.

Despite previously announced plans of new music on September 1, Big Bang will be absent from the Korean music scene next month. YG Entertainment, Big Bang's label, revealed that the members of Big Bang will be taking a break after four months of promotions.

Big Bang began releasing singles from their "MADE" project on May 1 and have been working since then without a break.

"We've decided that Big Bang needs some time off to get recharged since they have been working non-stop for four months," YG Entertainment's rep said on August 18.

Big Bang released eight singles and seven music videos since May 1 and broke multiple records, including tying Psy with the most number one songs on Billboard's World Charts.

YG Entertainment also revealed that the members of Big Bang plan to spend more time on new songs for their upcoming album.

Big Bang was set to be the first of three YG Entertainment acts promoting in a whirlwind September. Psy, the rapper famous around the world for his song "Gingham Style," is set to release an album, and YG Entertainment's new idol group iKON will debut on September 15.

"We decided to use the three weeks in September that were originally set aside for TV promotions in Korea as time for the members to get recharged and to work on making more songs for the new album," YG's statement said, asking for understanding from Big Bang's fans.

Since the release of "Loser" and "Bae Bae" on May 1, Big Bang promoted their songs nonstop. The group appeared on Korean television as a whole for the first time in several years, and members also appeared on Korean variety shows.

Big Bang's latest releases, the dual singles "Let's Not Fall In Love" and the collaboration song by Big Bang's G-Dragon and T.O.P "Zutter," were released on August 5.

The group is also in the midst of their MADE World Tour which just wrapped up a stop in Chengdu on August 14. Big Bang will finish out the China leg of the tour later this month with performances in Hangzhou, Changsha, and Chongqing before moving on to Taipei, Taiwan for three concerts in late September.
