Boyfriend's Hyunseong will try his had at stage acting for the first time in an upcoming musical production in Seoul.

Hyunseong was confirmed to be part of the musical cast for Joint Security Area. Hyunseong is going to work alongside huge musical names such as Lee Kun Myung and Kim Seung Dae for his first-ever musical role.

The pop star auditioned for the part of Kim Soo Hyuk back in April and beat out a reported 600 other actors for the part. Hyunseong's character is said to have a personality that is curious and magnanimous.

Many BEST FRIENDs (fans of star's K-pop group, Boyfriend) are showing their support for the singer's new professional challenge.

"Yay, his first musical! I'm sure he will do well," "Yay, congrats! Hyunseong fighting!" and "Finally! I'm so happy for him! He finally gets to showcase his amazing voice in other places," are a few of the comments fans wrote on an Allkpop forum discussing the role.

The red curtains will raise for Joint Security Area on Sept. 18 at the DCF Vivaldi Park Hall in Seoul.
