Korean Rock Legend Shin Hae Chul's Last Album To Be Released Posthumously This October

The late singer Shin Hae Chul will be honored on October 27, the first anniversary of his death, with the release of a posthumous album, reports The Korea Herald.

The rock legend's final album titled Real World will include three previously unreleased tracks. It will also contain the eponymous track "Real World" which holds special significance for Shin Hae Chul for being a song on which he consulted with distant relative and legendary pop-rock icon Seo Tae Ji.

Shin Hae Chul passed away on October 27, 2014 after suffering from a heart attack. But a police investigation attributed his death to complications due to negligence by the singer's attending doctor.

The police report noted that the singer had been complaining about symptomatic pain after undergoing a synechotomy, a type of surgery in the gastrointestinal tract, on October 17. This was then waved off as normal, which reportedly led to after-surgery inflammation and blood poisoning that culminated in a heart attack on October 22. The singer died due to complications on October 27.

Shin Hae Chul's family has sued the Seoul Sky Hospital and its director for medical negligence and is claiming for damages worth 2 billion won or roughly $1.7 million, although part of the director's defense includes claims that he had no choice but to release the Shin Hae Chul so the singer could attend his professional activities.
