Shannyn Sossamon has been out of the radar for the past years. Now, fans are wondering exactly what happened to her and why she left Hollywood after a brief stint.

In an article published by Nylon, the actress explained that she was shocked with the attention that she got and it mainly began from there.

"I was just totally not ready for that," Sossamon shared. "And didn't even want it in a way. It’s a privilege, it's a great job...I’m not complaining, but I don’t know; I've got a lot of 'Type A' in me."

"I like to have more ground beneath my feet and really understand where I am and what the goal is and what I want," the former actress added.

To add to the news about Shannyn Sossamon now, the "First Knight" star is apparently a mother.

"I like to look at the birth of my first son as a blessing of course, and he’s just the joy of my life and my soulmate," she said. "I can't imagine life without him, so it’s weird to think the other way."

"He completely grounded me and made me look at myself, and my life just became completely different," Shannyn added. "It was just a gift, and perfect timing, too."

As to where she is now, she is reportedly trying to go back to acting. The 90's actress revealed some information about her comeback in front of the cameras as well.

"It’s exciting now to want to do it again," Sossamon said. "Desire, for all of us, is totally necessary to do anything worthwhile. I questioned that for a long time, and I thought maybe I just don't want to, maybe I don’t love it, but I think it’s just happening when it’s supposed to happen."

"I’m a creative person, so there are other things I can do and I can be easily distracted," she continued. "But [acting] felt like it was supposed to be. I like to think it chose me instead of me choosing it, and I think I’m taking that very seriously now."
