Despite the split rumors, Katy Perry and John Mayer are reportedly still going strong as news of Justin Bieber trying to collaborate with the couple surfaces.

Katy Perry and John Mayer indeed split briefly earlier this year after reuniting over the Christmas and New Year holidays. But they are very much together, according to The Sun.

The insider dished, "They're spending a lot of time at his house talking over their feelings and trying to see if they can make it work."

The British tabloid also added that Taylor Swift was the one who's spreading the rumor about Katy Perry and John Mayer's split.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have a running feud on social media, and the "Bad Blood" singer hinted the reason for that feud when the John Mayer's girlfriend reportedly stole her backup dancer who can be seen wearing a shark costume during her Super Bowl performance.

Meanwhile, Billboard cited the Cosmopolitan interview with Justin Bieber where he intimated his desire to work with John Mayer and also his admiration for Katy Perry.

"Both, strangely enough, also have a Grateful Dead connection. Mayer's love for the Dead -- he played with them numerous times and will link up with three of the Core 4 for an MSG show this Halloween -- is well documented, but what you may not know is that Bieber's musical director Dan Kanter is a huge Deadhead, too," the article said.

Justin Bieber also described Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," as the ultimate summer song.

Taylor Swift also allegedly dissed John Mayer in her song "Dear John," and Katy Perry's boyfriend reportedly responded with his own track, "Paper Doll."

But John Mayer denied that "Paper Doll" is about Katy Perry's reported nemesis, Taylor Swift.

"I never said anything about it, but now I just go, 'Look, I can say the name Taylor Swift. She's an artist. I'm an artist. Let's just, everybody stop," he said. "Nobody's got an incurable cancer. We're rich people who get to live out our dreams. Let's just stop it."
