YG Trainee Moon Soo Ah Joins Cast Of 'Unpretty Rapstar 2'

YG Entertainment is continuing their venture into Mnet's rap competition programs as trainee Moon Soo Ah joins the official lineup of contestants for Unpretty Rapstar 2.

Moon Soo Ah, born in 1999, was announced alongside underground rappers Heize, ASH-B, and Treudy on August 24. They join Wonder Girls' Yubin, Sistar's Hyorin, KittyB, Kasper, and many others for the show's lineup.

Amidst all the criticism that Unpretty Rapstar is following the same path as Show Me the Money and including too many idols instead of underground stars, YG Entertainment insisted that Moon Soo Ah is not an idol. "Although she has been a training for over five years she is not a member of a group that is preparing something," the company explained according to Newsen.

Koreans making remarks in online forums, however, are still not pleased with her inclusion. "Looks like the winner has been determined," one commenter stated, as translated by Netizenbuzz, referring to iKON member Bobby's win of Show Me the Money 3 and WINNER Mino's current successful standing on Show Me the Money 4.

"Why is YG sticking another idol in? They've ruined [Show Me the Money] enough, stay out of this," another wrote.

As YG trainees and artists have a record of dominating these rap competition programs, many fans feel like they shows are being unfairly skewed to favor YG Entertainment in particular.

Unpretty Rapstar 2 will begin airing on September 11 at 11PM KST, after Show Me the Money 4 wraps up.
