EXO Expected To Make Official Japanese Debut Before End Of The Year

It's safe to say that EXO-Ls already exist in many countries across the globe. Otherwise, how could you explain the easily achieved millions of views for EXO music videos?

But it's a whole different feeling when your favorite K-pop group releases music in your native language.

Japanese fans of EXO will reportedly be in for a treat in the coming months. According to reports, EXO is currently planning their official Japanese debut. An official album release date has yet to be confirmed, but EXO is expected to release a Japanese album before the end of year.

Though EXO has yet to officially debut in Japan, the group has already announced an official Tokyo Dome Tour. This is somewhat controversial, according to a source on Naver.

"It is unprecedented for an overseas artist to have a solo tour before their official Japanese debut," said the source (via Soompi).

As a result, it is possible that EXO's official Japanese debut may ultimately coincide with their Dome Tour. The first leg of the tour will last from Nov. 6 to Nov. 8. EXO will then perform at the Osaka Dome on Nov. 13 through Nov. 15.

According to Koreaboo, a Tokyo Dome tour is usually invitation-only. This implies that EXO is not only one of the few artists special enough to perform there, but also that their popularity in Japan is already so immense that their official debut in Japan was not a factor in the decision to send them an invitation.

In short, EXO seems to have already stolen the hearts of many fans in Japan without ever having promoted there.

EXO recently completed the promotions for their 2015 repackage album "Love Me Right." The album sold over 1 million copies, and secured the status of a double million seller for the group. Finally, their music video for single "Call Me Baby" has secured over 50 million views in just four months since it was posted.
