Miami Heat Trade Rumors: Mario Chalmers And Chris Andersen Gone Before Season Kicks Off?

Two of the most reliable veterans in the Miami Heat roster are rumored to be moved before the start of the NBA season. Score first point guard Mario Chalmers, and defensive center Chris "Birdman" Anderson, might be wearing a new jersey soon.

The Miami Heat is currently subject for luxury tax and they are trying to avoid to be hit by that penalty. Majority of the team's cap space is dedicated to Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic, and Luol Deng. Should Hassan Whiteside prove that last year's run was no fluke, then that will probably be the end of Anderson's stint with the Heat.

In a report by Pro Basketball Talk, The Birdman was asked if the trade rumors surrounding him affect his morale. Andersen shrugged it off and answered no when asked by Ira Winderman at the Sun Sentinel.

"It's a business, man," Andersen, 37, said. "It doesn't bother me one bit."

Meanwhile, Heat main point guard before Dragic's arrival, Mario Chalmers, might also soon pack his bags due to same reasons with Anderson. In a report by Bleacher Report, the Miami Heat are exploring their options just to avoid the luxury tax hit.

"If Chalmers somehow makes it to training camp with the Heat, he would be the obvious choice to back up Dragic," wrote Barry Jackson of Miami Herald. "But Miami appears intent on trying to purge the final year of his contract; his $4.3 million salary could result in a tax bill three times that amount, depending on the Heat's final payroll number."

"The Heat has time to move Chalmers, because a team's tax bill is based on the roster on the final day of the regular season, an NBA spokesman said. But Miami appears interested in moving as soon as it can find a suitable deal, according to a league official who has spoken to the Heat."
